Hello all, been a while and have had the issue resolved. Seems the indie was correct regarding the valve body. After many checks for possible culprits, much lamenting, and conversations with line techs at Newport Beach Jaguar and Mission Viejo Jaguar, I took their recommendation to take car in to Mission Viejo Transmission. Kevin ran all diagnostics possible before removing pan and valve body. Bottom line; valve body had a problem long before we bought the car, and was driven relentlessly for who knows how long. It fried the transmission. The crew at MV Trans had the valve body rebuilt, trans out & rebuilt, and the car back on the road, running perfectly, within 4 or 5 days. My wife's been driving her "new" Jag for about 6 weeks now without issue.

If you're in Orange County SoCal, and have a trans issue, I strongly recommend the experts at Mission Viejo Transmission. I wouldn't normally pop the names of vendors, and apologies if this is frowned upon, but they went above and beyond simply to appease me.

No other repairs done, and no other codes since receiving car six weeks and about 1,200 miles ago. Any questions at all, I'd be happy to answer with what I was told. I'd list items here, but it would be an endless stream here

 

What did something like this cost you, if you don't mind me asking? I need to know how much to budget for it. Thanks in advance.
