2005 S Type V6 driver seat

Being a chap of ample proportions my driver seat is starting to show signs that all might be a bit strained. The actual seat is OK but the seat will not rise when the electronic switch is operated. It will recline and the seat angle will change but the height control is not responding. The respective motor does kick in but there is no movement.
One thought on this - I did have the battery changed prior to this symptom appearing and this could possibly be a memory problem. However, I'm inclined to think that an individual motor failure is more likely.
Any suggestions on how to proceed with this - I have heard that seat removal can be difficult - can anyone advise on that.
If I do need to replace the motor can anyone advise whether the older type S type has the same seats since my car is 2005 and of the later design. I have sourced one being scrapped but it is 2002, I think. This is a problem for me in my location (the UAE) since Jaguars being broken are few and far between.
Thanks.
