Default 2005 and up wiper blades

So, as many of you avid "Forums" readers know, one of my real peeves is the integrated nozzle wipers fitted to the 05 and up S Type.

For those that don't know... When Jaguar tweaked the body on the S Type they moved the washer nozzles from the hood to nozzles built into the wiper blade clip.

Then they used standard metal blades. Those wonderful old school types that clog with ice and snow.. I tried just about every brand of solid wipers out there and none of them fit the plastic nozzle clip!

So, way back when, user Delta66 mentioned that he had picked up a set of modern solid blades with the nozzles built in. That got me looking. And I found them on E-Bay. I bought them back in September but didn't want to talk them up until I had time on them.

Well, they are working GREAT. We have had some severe weather here lately. They don't clog up. They firmly stay put at any speed. While the integrated nozzle is a little "bulky" looking compared to the stock blades the performance has been perfect.

I recommend them to anyone else out there that has to deal with harsh winter weather. I got them from the first seller listed below in about a week... Shipped from the UK....

Here is another seller... Just to be fair to others on E-Bay. I haven't purchased from them....yet...

Mine are still working great. One blade fell off when I used the wipers having not properly cleared the screen of ice. The windscreen washer pipe stopped it from flying away and once stopped. it just clicked back into place.

If anything my only annoyance is that they are so effective, when you use the screen wash the last pass after the delay squeaks as the screen is totally dry and clear.

For those of you who do just fine with the standard Trico blade refills, I just put on a new set yesterday to get ready for the required annual safety inspection today. Best deal I found locally was at NAPA. The 24-inch driver's side refill is part no. 60-2401. The 19-inch passenger's side refill is part no. 60-1900. They slide right into your existing wiper arms and fit perfectly. With my AAA membership NAPA discount, I paid a grand total of $9.02 for the set. They tend to last about a year in our neck of the woods....
