Default 2006 STR pricing

Am I way off base with my pricing? I just had the supercharger coolant hoses replaced and mechanically it needs nothing..rear brakes are at 20% that the worst thing about her.. Do these just take a while to sell or am I out of the ball park?
thanks guys!

Shannon, I've deleted your link, we have rules about advertising.
For those that want to comment the price was 8.5K

Real-world prices are unfortunately much less than we all care to admit. A long-time member of this forum recently sold his well-cared-for 2005 STR for $3,500 after originally pricing it at $9,000. These cars are now quite long in the tooth and there is virtually no demand for them. Good luck....

A lot of the problem is that only a few want an STR. (Most people don't even know it exists.)

Knowledgeable fans of these cars are getting fewer, but are still out there.
I was willing to pay $14K (net $13K after owner agreed to pay for rear bumper re-paint due to scratch) for a nearly flawless 31K mile '07 STR earlier this year -

yeah, saw your car on CL. real nice, but unfortunately as stated the repairs you made are not going to be recouped. mine is finally driveable (leans codes and worn tires). it's on CL in tucson for half your price, higher miles, older, etc. and not one call. still wonderful and fun cars. making even on cars is hardly doable anymore let alone a profit. jon89 referenced a member's car which really was disheartening. that car was VERY cheaply priced and didn't last. good luck with your sale.

Ya, unfortunately, everyone who knows these cars either has one or had one. There is no market for them what so ever.

Keep it, drive it, and take pleasure whenever you meet someone and they say things like "Wow! What a beautiful car, what is it?", especially when you squash them into the seat when you stand on it.

There really is no other path unless you get very lucky.

Personally, I figure that I'll just leave it with the Jaguar dealer when I buy my next XF or XE CPO and will accept whatever discount they give me. That is what I has to do with my beautiful X-Type in 2013.

I am the guy that sold my STR cheap.
You need to make a decision.

Do you want to sell the car or not?
I did, so I had to price it so it would sell. Not what I had in it or what I think it should be worth.

It's a tough world in the use car business.

I paid $10 500 for an absolutely mint 2005 STR with 50k miles on the clock...
I am in south africa ... the few that I have seen advertised are all in that bracket. I bought a 2003 STR 3 years ago with 65k miles (was written off a year ago) and paid $10k for that one.
I thought it a bargain ..

Default Just sold my 2005 STR for $3500

Time to say good bye to a lot of wonderful and helpful forum members.

This week I also sold my 2005 STR for $3500. Original asking price was $4900 on craig's list. The car had issues: paint on hood and roof had faded, door ajar error, problematic AC, steering wheel was worn and the radio sounded horrible...

Below is the majority of the link. If you'd like to check out the details of the sale you can copy and paste the following link into your browser and then add ".html" at the end and it should work for another few weeks...
washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/cto/d/soldsupercharged-jaguar-type/6318801571...
(don'f forget to add .html after pasting the rest of the link)
Hope this is not breaking the rule(s).

I sold mine down in Fort Rucker middle of Sept for $7200, it was an 03 with 99k miles, but had been featured in Southern Fresh in the past, 20" COR 3 piece wheels, Methanol injection, CAI, pulley, custom exhaust, etc. The guy saw it and fell in love with it. I'm sure its still terrorizing Southern Alabama right now.
