No. Stopped 2004. Almost the same, even so.

You can get newer by paying a smallish amount for AllData or jag's own TOPIx.

The brakes on my S-Type we're almost identical to the brakes on my Honda, which were identical to my Mitsubishi, which were identical to my Nissan.

Brakes are pretty much brakes.

Thanks the calipers differ from my land rover and Volvo and mercedes though.
I have had a look and it appears the calipers split by undoing x2 Allen headed bolts.

If similar to 2003 M/Y, there's no Allen head bolts that need removing to change pads, just a pair of six point 11 or maybe 12mm bolts that attach the caliper to the anchor bracket.

The only fiddly bit on the rear brakes is releasing the EPB , then screwing the piston back into the caliper. Have a look through the archives, the brakes have been covered many many times. Also- please stop by the new members section to post an intro.

Brakes do vary a bit (such as having or not having slider pins) but even so they're fairly alike and covered quite well on generic sites such as howstuffworks or just use google and read a while. If still worried I'd get a mechanic to do it

Thanks both
I am happy to do the work
Just like to get any info I may need before I start.
New tyres and brake pads ready to fit
Then get 4 wheel. Alignment sorted.

Simple job in the end
You need:
a 9mm Allen socket of Allen Key
there are two plastic covers on the rear of the caliper
the allen bolts are beneath.
the R logo on the face of the calipers is actually a retaining spring clip, remove this with a screwdriver or suitable lever between
the clip and caliper directly under the R itself.(take care it will fly off if not restrained)
then remove the two 9mm bolts, the caliper then separates and the old pads can be removed.
On assembly I replaced the bolts loosely then fitted the clip.finally tightened the bolts and pressed the brake pedal to re-seat the pads.
took less then 40mins to do the Fronts.

Ah- you have an -R. That changes everything. Disregard my answer above.

And just to let you know your STR brake setup is unique to the 2006-2008 STR's.

Jaguar removed the expensive Brembos and dropped back to a more standard single piston floating caliper design. So you are correct the JTIS which stops at 2004 does NOT cover your brakes.

Default 2000 s-type front brake clips for $11.00

I completed all four rotors and disc and had to open the fronts back for the springs, which didn't come with my ceramic pads and vented cross-drilled rotors. In less than 10 mins you can remove the tire, use a ratcheting 12mm wrench to remove only the top caliper bolt and swing the caliper down. then both pads simply slide up. The parts kit can be found locally
by asking for a
2000 Lincoln LS brake disc hardware kit by Duralast part #H5942
at Autozone
Duralast/Brake Disc Hardware Kit - Front (H5942) | AutoZone.com
It is the same I installed it.
