As requested:
You can download a copy of the SNG Barratt's parts catalog from a link in the "Stickies" section above; thus, you can do your own look-ups.
Also, you might want to stop by the New Members Forum and post the expected brief "into"... It is always good form to say "hello" prior to commencing to pick our collective brains, no?

I appreciate the help! Maneuvering around in here is a challenge to me. I did try to search it out on my own but had no luck. I will take your advice, trying to get car back together after I did timing chain!

what’s confusing you is the part was called a purge hose and now it’s a purge valve. your valve comes with the hoses, the old cars didn’t
aj811242 (#1) is the same thing but with shorter pipes for the v8. #2 is for V6

Most likely just carried over into the newer model and listed that way to keep the part # and application current...
Unfortunatey, if you want a logical and organized part numbering system, you have to look to the Germans (Mercedes-Benz for example). Jaguar seems to be a randomly applied "alphabet soup" kind of approach from what I can see. Perhaps other know better and can enlighten us...
