Default 2019 opinions for OBD scanners. stype 2000 4.0

Hi there,
trying to get an OBD scanner for my s-type 2000.4.0
My antispin is flashing and i would like to check wheel sensors, steering and others issues.
i see around about that LRII scanner but says from 2001 and up in the sellers website...
Others say about Foxwell 510 pro or the Autel 8502.

Any has tried those and give me a good advice?? thanks in advance.

+1. I have the same one, and am glad for it. It is only a reader, which explains why it didn't cost an arm, a leg and your first born. Got mine off EBay.

Exactly...and they are getting cheaper because of the newer ones....i have heard mixed reviews on the newer models of icarsoft...i hear the autel is good, but it is not manufacturer specific like the 930 is, IIRC....also, i easily updated mine about 3 months ago

Thanks for reminding me to update mIne. This model also picks up the non-standard "a" codes (for audio) and "b" ones for "body." No generic scanner would be aware of those codes.

BAFX Bluetooth OBD2 Scanner Adapter works well with torque app on Android on my S-type 01 (never saw any special codes since don't have any problem beyond a P0430 code)

I have the iCarsoft LR-ii; It works well for reading standard OBD-II DTCs and proprietary Jaugar chasis codes, etc., on my 2003 S-type.

I suppose you are, but they cost quite a lot - both $$$ and time spent grasping how to use them (and how not to!). Can be worthwhile but care etc needed.

Weird reading all those positive reviews about the ELM327.

I've got the paid version of Torque (Pro), and a bunch of ELM327's (4-5 of them, all ~5USD).
None of them can connect to my 2007 X-type diesel 2.0
I also tried it with OBD auto doctor (PC proggie). can't remember it it worked or not, will try again.

I was going to buy a kiwi instead of those cheap clones, but I'm having doubts, I can go all in and buy a dedicated scantool, or just try another app with the ELM327's I already got.
