Hi All
Looking at some Jaguar Orona Alloy Wheels, 20inch from an XJ. Tyres are 255 35 20. Wheels are 9J ET49.
Will these fit on my 2000 plate s type v8, without any modifications?
Lovely looking wheels, but don't want to commit if they won't fit. If anybody has any photos of 20's on s type too, that would be great.
Thanks in advance!

As long as the XJ is 2004 or newer they both show the same specs except center bore. The XJ's is 74.1 vs the S-Type @ 63.4.

+1 on that ... though I'm not game to use words like "horrid" ...
Mine has 18x8 Mercurys all round with, previously P Zeros, now Kumhos ... ride is firm but OK until you hit the really bumpy undulating stuff, when it may hit the bump stops ... result, a stiff jolt. My good friend's S-Type is identical but with split 20x9s at front and 20x10s at rear. Sitting on a "pile driver" (pun intended) has destroyed (IMHO) the excellent touring characteristics of his car.
More to the point, how narrow are these 20inch rims that you are only carrying 255 tyres? You do realize that increasing the rim diameter, then going lower profile to preserve the original rolling radius, adds not one iota of rubber on the road. However, increasing rim width does, for which you will sacrifice around 10% fuel efficiency on these figures. I would suggest you tread carefully and road-test widely. For me, I would go wider (275s are not the limit at rear) but not venture beyond 18 inch rims. I think the factory got it right (and well balanced) with the STR's 18x8.5s with 255s at front and 18x9.5s with 275s at rear ... then later with 19s.
