Plug and play. Rims >=18, and you need at least 5mm spacers. Can be foundFound on some, not all: 2005+ STR XF 5.0 n/a XF 3.0dBT sport

Do show us a photo of the front grill area.
There is quite a bit of differance between the steel and alloy hood in that area.
The wings(fenders) are the same on all S-types, but the bumpers are not, they also changed the bumper mountings, so it is not just a case of swapping the bumper covers.

Very nice! Sooo I have wanted to do a better brake setup I have the 2000 4.0 and would love a bigger brake. What can I use for theses that is direct bolt? Say what can I buy from say rockauto on what car and it'll bolt on? Rim size will be 20s soon long as they fit

ohh my bad, i just saw you wrote that.
I have the prefacelift wich is very similar with facelift. These brakes are in the facelift STR, or other big XF.

if you want to install them on tour nonfacelift i think is possibile if you get the facelift or prefacelift wheel knuckles.

but, i will test a new theory, where i will add the XF 5.0 master cylinder and lines from that to the abs module. They look thicker and i bet they will work better

yes 355s fit the original x200 (1999-02), so do the 326 rears

380 front 376 rear from x351/x150 R should be no problem as well you might have trouble with ebrake cable but who cares.

So i can give you the exact distance between the ears of the knuckle where they bolt on, and you can measure yours.
if they match, give em a try

for the 355 you need 18 inch wheels or bigger.
mercury r18 is what i have. ET60 if i remember correctly... And i run spacers.
your ET should be at least 50.
XF or STR had 49 if i remember correctly.

For the 380 mm front brakes you need 20" wheels not 19" as stated earlier, with only one exception I know of if we are talking only OEM Jag wheels.
That exception is 19" F-Type wheels, no other OEM Jag 19" wheels will fit over the 380 mm calipers.

Are you sure? The 5.0 XKR came from the factory with 19" wheels as standard in some geographies (Tamara in Germany). The 20s were then options.

If that is true (and I trust your extensive knowledge) then that is the first I have heard of it!

I just picked up a set of the exact wheels off a 05 stype 3.0 and I was asking do I need the spacers for my 2000 stype 4.0? Still has the oem brakes on it. Was the 5mm spacer for the larger brakes?

The offset of the original S-Type wheels was in the 60mm range. If you have the original brakes, any ET60 S-Type wheel should fit fine. Have a look on the back of the new wheels (they are called Mercury?) - the ET value should be marked. Expected is 8J width, ET60 offset.

i dont think you need spacers to fit your new wheels over the original brakes.
send pics of your brakes and new wheels

Just a note: on fords and jags you can use 5mm spacers without having to get new bolts/lugs/other mods.
but get some wheel centering rings, as most likely the 5mm spacer is enough to cover the center ring of the hub.

now, if you want to put the 355 brakes in the front, from my experience, your ET should be at least 50, and you also must do a real life test with the rims.

i took the risk and i seen that mercury rims need spacers (10mm at leats, 5mm wont do it, maybe 7mm is enough but the caliper needs 3mm clearance from the wheel, at least) to fit over the 355mm brakes

there are some XF/XJ/XK/STR oem wheels that fit and have the desired offeset.

i personally love mercury r18s look on the s type
