Default 4.2 l V8R coolant leak

Hello,
Who could tell me about a problem with a major leak of engine coolant not running? Fluid is flowing backwards on each side of the gearbox and is not visible from above or below the engine. The car is 18 years old but only 80,000 kms. Thank you for your answers, explanatory photos welcome.
Regards,
Jean Michel

Any time I can't see something I use a USB snake-like camera (borescope) - cost about 10euro - but sometimes I expect a smartphone would work.

Thank you, the search was done with the endoscope but it did not find the origin of the leak. that's why I launched this call for "help", because as a last resort the mechanic suggests that I take out the engine.

Leak is most likely from one of the hoses under the inlet manifold, or supercharger in the case of the R variant. Check with a cooling system pressure tester after the vehicle is cold. Pump the system to 1 bar and search for leaks.

There is no way to tell which hose gave without pulling the supercharger or intake, whichever the case may be....i am in the middle of such repair right now....both hoses will be replaced....once in a great while the 90 degree hose attached to the water rail will split and run down the valley and off the back of the engine

Thanks for that info, I think the easiest way is to take the intake apart to see what's going on below.

Thanks for that info, I think the easiest way is to take the intake apart to see what's going on below. Especially since I have supplied almost all the hoses with a view to replacing them as a precaution.

good idea...order the 2 hoses under the intake and the 90 degree outlet hose i mentioned...the coolant hose to throttle body is found in the throttle body parts diagram...the coolant hose to egr is found in the egr diagram and the 90 big hose is found in engine cooling/water rail diagram....I use jaguarlandroverclassicparts.com for their diagrams or terrysjag

@Jean-Michel, since you're in France, you can also source parts from SNG Barratt France:

Thank you, I have already ordered all the hoses from them, but it is the identification of the leak that poses a problem for me.
Best regards,

Default Coolant leak continuation and end

Ultimately after dismantling the admission and everything that goes with it, the culprit has been found (I will try to attach the photo). Apparently, this hose suffers a lot from the heat inside the V8. in addition to its replacement, it is planned to thermally insulate it to protect it. The parts were ordered from SNG Barratt

.
Have a lovely day everybody

Take a good look at all the vacuum connectors also...if in doubt, replace it....make sure to use a new throttle body to induction elbow gasket if the black sealant is chipping away....

+1 on scottjh9's recommendations above.

If the vehicle is normally aspirated, it's also a good idea to replace the water outlet and thermostat assembly since the inlet manifold is out of the way allowing access to the Torx screws. The JLR part number is AJ811793.

Default Thanks

Thank you for your valuable advice, as a reminder this is a 4.2 l V8R from November 2002. Do not worry all the surrounding parts are checked and replaced. The car benefited from a major overhaul with all fluids being changed, as well as the replacement of all the rear axle tie rods. The maintenance carried out is carried out with a collector's spirit, since it is parked in the garage with a Citroën Traction 11B from 1949, a Citroën DSuper 5 from 1973, a Citroën 2 CV6 from 1980 and a Motoguzzi California Titanium from 2003.
Best regards.
Jean Michel
