4.2 V8 Naturally Aspirated Engine Question
Hi. I have a 2004 facelift S Type with the 4.2 V8 n/a engine.
Unfortunately the bottom end went while I was driving it hard and put a rod through the block!
I have managed to find another engine from the same year although it is from an X350 XJ
I believe it is the same engine and should be able to fit into the S Type? I believe some parts are different on it - looks like the thermostat housing is different. Would I be able to transfer parts from my S Type engine to go onto the XJ engine?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ryan

Thanks Cambo. Just what I wanted to hear as I took the plunge an hour ago and bought it! £560 delivered 3 months warranty full service history up to 70k engine is on 72k with all previous mot's! Think I got a good deal there!
I see you are down in Sydney now, beautiful place I hope you are enjoying it there.
32C in some places in the UK right now, says it might hit 37C later!!! Beer garden might be too hot!
