Default 49 series battery in a STR

Anybody with a STR run a 49 series battery? The dealer put a battery in my car but it's a 49 not a 93. I have not been able to get the p1000 code to cycle and it's been 500 miles since I clear the codes. Wondering if maybe the battery is causing the circuits to reset everytime I start the car. Thanks for your help!

Or you may have a problem that's causing one or more OBD monitors not to Complete. (You can read which aren't Complete (aka set) using an elm327 or any half-way decent OBD tool.)

I checked the scanner and it said that, cont: continued not complete and supp: catalyst not complete. Everything else has been completed. I guess its not the battery then huh?

Please check that you have a vent tube and that it's properly vented OUTSIDE the trunk. Many people don't understand this and it can lead to problems.

That doesn't tell you whether it's battery or not.

It tells you the kinds of things to go hunting for, starting with the detailed jag docs unless you have access to a tech who knows the likely causes. Any pending codes?

Does it go CL (closed loop)? About 30 secs after starting?

Any odd-looking sensor or other readings? This will mean working through a lot of data but you need clues.

Any work recently done is usually relevant so think hard LOL

I don't understand "cont: ...". Not the standard terminology and is junk to me. I might guess but no thanks.

Well I tried another scanner today and it said no codes. P1000 pending. Looks at readiness monitors and said 6/7 complete. The comprehensive component test not complete. What does that mean? 6/7 would still pass inspection and emissions right? Should I be concerned about this or keep driving?

I don't know what's a pass as our laws are not yours. If it's a pass, go for it!

But then fix it

Codes PDFs are in JTIS and the FAQs here. Worth reading carefully for clues and then you "just" need to go troubleshooting.

Oh, see this too:

Ok, so I got caught in a snow storm while driving to my weekend getaway a few weeks ago. Little upset because I never wanted this car to see snow but this is the first and last time. I was amazed I made it, not a good car for the snow but anyway, car was fine all weekend and then I drove it to work Monday fine, sat for 5 hours, took it to lunch, then parked it back at work for the remaining 8 hours. Note it was a very cold night. Well after I closed shop, started the car and had a parking brake fault. The car would not release the e brake. Opened the trunk to find it with a bit of water in it and the battery and modules all condensated. It was late so I just called for a ride home. Next morning I dragged it into the shop and now had a cruise control fault too, dried the trunk unpluged the modules, battery, and kept the car under the heater for the most part of the day. Plugged everything back in, connected the battery and everything worked fine. Decided to plug in ,y scanner for fun and now have a P1111 at last. I guess the car just needed to get reset or something but my P1000 is gone atlast. These cars do strange things sometimes to say the least! Now I just need to get my remote climate control module rebuilt...

There should be no water in the trunk. Plays havoc with modules. Quite common to have a leak. Search should get you existing threads about how to find & fix. May be in FAQs.
