5R55N replacement
Hi there,
I am new to this forum so hello to everybody.
My concern is the automatic transmission of my S-Type 11/1999 200.000 km.
I would like to replace it because it gave me some trouble last few days.
I could get my hands on a Ford 5shift XR8P-AC gearbox which is fully rebuilt and looks brand new. The rebuilt AT is from a S-Type 4.0L but my S-Type is a 3.0L.
So the ATs look identical but the numbers are slightly different.
4.0L engine AT is a XR8P-AC
3.0L engine AT is a XR8P-BC
So my question ... are they interchangeable? Can a 3.0L run with a AT from a 4.0L S-Type?
I appreciate any hints and help
