70k and no compression on cylinder #4! 😨
Hey guys,
So it's been months since I posted and last got a tune-up on the 3.0 S-Type. New plugs, coils, gaskets, etc.
Car turns over 70k, starts shaking, limp mode and reads misfires on all coils. My indy mechanic is saying that he is not getting any compression in the 4th cylinder whatsoever! He thinks it may be the intake valve based on his experience with these cars and with Ford Duratecs in general.
This sucks because I just got new tires, front ball joints, and fancy 3m window tint! Haha
Would you guys:
A) find another motor and replace ($2k labor)?
B) find an engine shop and fix cylinder #4 (no clue on cost yet)?
C) sell car as is and cut losses?
Anything else you would ask the mechanic or look into?
Know anyone selling a 3.0 my2005?
Thanks for the wonderful help over the years, hoping this isn't the end for the "WhiteKitty"...
