90k Mile Service-Yes, Ive Used Search :P
Ok guys as the thread said its time for the 90k Mile Service on my car. It might now be sooner then later since I might have had a coil go today (pray thats all it is!). I was actually thinking about doing a lot of this stuff for a while and saw a lot of people also doing it at 90k Miles. I actually just hit 92k.
All of the threads i read were helpful, especially by one of the 3.0 owners but I cant remember who it was or find the post.
I really do need better guidance as to what I need for the transmission fluid flush as there is much debate over what fluid to use if my guy doesnt insist on using the ZF fluid. Obviously, the cheaper it is the better if it all works the same.
If you guys could also review this list and tell me if you think any of it is wasteful or things I should wait on since i might do upgrades down the road or details i might have missed etc Id appreciate it.
I plan to have the shop I service the car at do the work so labor time for something small is important, im not very mechanically inclined currently so id rather not touch the car much myself unless its a VERY easy job thats just time consuming.
Right now it looks like i might hold off on the upgrades for 2 or 3 months.
1. Oil and Filter Change
2. Air Filter (DONE, just cleaned my K&N a month ago)
3. Fuel Filter Change
4. Power Steering Fluid Change (DONE, just extracted it and refilled it a month ago)
5. Transmission Fluid Flush and Filter Change
6. Differential Fluid Flush
7. Torque Converter Fluid Flush
8. Spark Plug Change
9. Clean Throttle Body
10. Tighten Transmission Shifter Bolts
11. Change Bushings
12. Reset ECU
13. Check Cats
14. Inspect Rest Of Car
Thats the list I have so far.
Thanks for everyones help in advance like always!

Plenty of those aren't on the service sheet (which you can get via the stickies IIRC) at all or not at 90K, but fine do them if you like - though I wouldn't do #9. Don't know why 7 & 5 aren't one item! 11's gonna be very expensive if you mean them all but apart from the expense should improve the car.

ZF engineers recommend changing the 6-speed transmission's ATF at 100,000 miles for cars that have been operated under "normal" conditions, i.e. no racing, no towing, at least 50% highway miles, and no gravel or dirt roads....
As long as our S-Type's ZF sleeve holds up without a leak, I plan on changing our ATF between 80,000 and 85,000 miles. Still have not decided whether to stick with Lifeguard 6. If prices continue to decline, odds become greater that I will....

Jaguar didn't make the transmission, ZF did...You can have some fun with them at the dealership, ask "how often do you replace transmissions in Jags, a few a week?" (secret is to throw out a number as you'll increase the odds of getting a more accurate answer)...

im at my buddies place that services it for me, they are putting a coil in it as we speak hoping it cures the problem. also said they are still getting a lean code but thats coming from the opposite bank.
the rest of the service items will be done next week as some of the stuff they have to order.
I had my coolant tank done a while back under warranty and the hoses have now been 100% done also. My guy advised it was wise that i go ahead with the DCCV valve but def. said to use the Bosch brand for this part.
