Default 930i scanner

Happy new year to you all.
A quick question about the diagnostic scanners
I have tried to keep up with code reader tech. including the latest about using the phone and bluetooth to gather info but it seems to be centred around the iphone and I have the windows 10 mobile (not sure why I did that) so I was thinking carsoft 930i
Has anybody used the 930i and if so are they worth £90
Thanks
Cully

I like mine.. I'm still learning how to understand all the data streams on all the engine sensors. It also has all the data streams on the transmission, brakes and everything else electronic. You can watch all the youtube vids and see maybe 10% of what it does.

thanks for you info.
I have watched some vids. but from the manufacturers, hence the need to ask a Jag owner.
I will be ordering one tomorrow.
I have a 960 Volvo 200k 1996 model which is OBD11 compliant so it will be interesting to see if it reads the generic codes / data for that
Thanks again.

I've checked those out online as well, now there's a newer version, the LR2 model, a little more expensive, but more capability. But the same company also makes the same unit that has full coverage of most brands, so unsure of what's the best way to go. One good thing with the LR2 is the parking brake retraction, oil service reset and several other things, including reading all Jaguar and Land Rover systems. Maybe asking the Land Rover groups if they have experience with these scanners is good will help Your, or rather Our decisions.

I like my 930i. It picks up specific codes that Actron models either miss or label as miscellaneous. I haven't taken advantage of the advanced features yet, but knowing specific codes helps pinpoint exact issues, and eliminates chasing ghosts.

About $100 on EBay, used but flash updated.

Thanks for your responses, I have just ordered the 960i.
I checked on both the LR2 and 930i with two suppliers in the UK and both said that my model S type June 2002 petrol would not gain anything from the new version apart from the electric brake reset, and I have no problems with resetting the brake after pad changing using the procedure laid out in the forum notes (other parts of the LR2 upgrade relate to diesel engines, servicing resets etc not applicable for me)
So we will see what hidden faults she has in the next couple of days.
Thanks again
Paul
