PO302 CYL 2 MISFIRE DETECTED
PO303 CYL 3 MISFIRE DETECTED
PO304 CYL 4 MISFIRE DETECTED
PO305 CYL 5 MISFIRE DETECTED
PO307 CYL 7 MISFIRE DETECTED
PO308 CYL 8 MISFIRE DETECTED

I THEN PUT TO SPARK PLUGS IN 7 AND 8
THEN TURNED ENGINE OVER IT SPUN LIKE THERE WAS LIKE NO PLUGS IN IT
Please any help would be appreciated
Thanking you

7 & 8 have bad intake valves so had air coming out of throttle body

If your sure that 7 & 8 have no compression I would start removing parts to see what's wrong before ordering anything? Gaskets are on EBay if you search but not sure how much shipping is to you in NZ?
Sounds like you might need a new engine? Has the engine been over heated before? Seems strange to lose compression completely on 2 cylinders.

Maybe do a coolant test to check for combustion gasses before you proceed?

Hello after taking intake off have found last two intake valves on cylinder 7 & 8 have lost there valve seats

I am just finding that i am hitting a brick wall on Ebay
When I asked about gaskets i get the same answer
Sorry not Compatible with your car or sorry dose not fit your car
i though there were other jaguar that had the same engine

Super bad luck on the valve seats. Can you use a local machine shop to fix them? Or are you looking for different heads? This is not common and I think I have heard of it maybe once before? Engine ever get over heated?
Yes you are right all 4.2L engines are the same across the Jaguar line up. Now the SC version did pick up VVT for 2006 as before that the SC engines did not have that. But you have the NA version so you don't need to worry about VVT.

Here is a listing for head gaskets and valve stem seals?
4.2L V-8 Head Gasket Kit

M8 if it's any help I've found it way cheaper to get parts from Oz than Nz. Online auto parts Melbourne have been brilliant. Going to try Berkshire Jag parts england next.
best of luck

Hi Darrol,
I have sourced parts for my Cats from all over the world, but this is one of the good sources:
https://www.britishparts.co.uk/class.../engine-v8-c25 (That's already the link for your V8 engine).
At least you would have it easy there to find the P/N of the parts you need, and even, if you don't want to buy there, you have the P/N to search the rest of the net with that number.

You have some serious problems there. Just mentioning anyway, that my V8 (XJ8) was in restricted performance when I bought it, but my OBDII scanner told me correctly that it was the knock-sensors...
