Default Abs fault and cruise not available

Hi

I have a 2005 S type 3.0 Jag. It was parked for a few weeks as i was on vacation and when i came back and started it got an abs fault and cruise not available warning. Funny thing is if i drive it for a while and switch off and restart the warning ges away. Any idea what is happening to my beloved baby.

Any advise is welcome

Regards

Alzy

+1 on battery

It might (but only might) recover enough if charged for 12+ hours.

Meantime make sure your key unlocks the trunk (boot) - keyhole below U of JAGUAR.

Mine have the same issue but it was while running.
I just check the tire pressure and was fixed.
But also could be a bad connection or dirt in sensor of the tires.
The computer sense that tires are not spining equaly and gives that sing

I have S type 2.5 2001 and experienced same fault over past two or three years, but was unable to find cause. BUT a few days ago, the ABS fault light on permanently.
May now be able to solve.

Angry Traction Control Fault & ABS fault !!!! + more

Hey guys

This is my first post .... hope it works !! I have the same fault with my 1999 S-Type, 177K on the clock ... I love this car but to be honist is now costing me money each week with different faults. I have only had it 4 months & warranty just run out. Anyway, not the handbrake light has come on too.
I have taken all four wheels off & must admit there was water in the front two sensor housings, blew it out with compressed air, the back two are open to air although i did clean the teeth on the gear, still faulting, not got home today after going out for a few hrs & the blumin boot wont open without using the key, not by remote or by the switch in the cabin. GRRRrrrrrr...... me finks water has got into the electrics somewhere, oh & have checked the fuse, tis ok.

Hi

went to get my battery checked and was told the the voltage is about 12.6, which is lower than normal and i should get the distilled water in the battery changed. will try to get it done today and report back if that works. fingers crossed...

Hey alzy

Dont think its your battery at fault, although probably not the full quid, my car has basically the same problem but I have a new battery ( 2months old ), im swinging towards a faulty sensor , gut dont know how to test it without the electronic reader, I do have an OBD11 scanner but it only does engine not chassis or sensor faults.

12.6V sounds fine, ideally if it had been let stand for a couple of hours.
