Default ABS light

my wife was driving her 2002 S-type when the other day when her ABS activated as she was slowing down to turn into a parking lot. as it happened, she got cut off by another driver and she had to slam on the brakes. when she did, the brakes pulsed rather than grabbed. this was on a hot, dry summer day, so there weren't conditions that should have the ABS activating. the ABS light has been on ever since, but the brakes are working fine. just completed discs and pads about a week prior. any thoughts? taking it to the shop this week for suspension work. would like some thoughts on what he should look at for this issue while he has it.

You need to read the code.

The ABS should have codes stored but be aware that an ordinary OBD tool will not read them.

They're less costly than you may expect (over here).

John as you remember (maybe) I purchased one from NAPA Auto Parts (stateside) for $250.00ish... it was the wrong one. I had to "dealer" it for our S at nearly $300.00. I changed it out in my bath robe in 20 minutes!

What were you doing with a bearing in your bathrobe? Is that legal?

Got mine from NAPA for $169 and my buddy (who has his own shop) threw it on for me for $50. Not sure what the regular rate would have been.
