Check the simple things first:

1. Is your brake fluid reservoir full?

2. Are the appropriate fuses still good?

3. How old is your battery?

I'm sure that others who have had similar symptoms will chime in soon with other good suggestions to check....

Here is another thread on the subject:

In this case it was a wheel bearing. Following up with Jon's comments, after checking the obvious, try cleaning out the sensors.

Good luck,

Mike

Update:

took the car by the shop yesterday and discovered that both front bearings were toast. also found that the two rear sensors were beginning to crack as well.

front wheel hub assemblies were about 450 for both . rear sensors were 286 each (ouch). i elected to go with the front assemblies and HOPE that solved the problem.

just received a call from the shop and the car is done. front hub assemblies fixed the problem, and it's good to go.

tks for the input.

Damn! I was going to offer you a deal on the second mortgage!!

Just joking, glad to hear you got it sorted for a reasonably modest outlay.
