Default AC

So ive been trying to browse through the forums to find out any hint of the problem im facing to no avail. The issue is my AC in my 2006 - S type only works (gives out cold air) when im pressing down on the accelerator (RPM 2 and above). It gives out hot air when stationary, and this is the same for the front and passenger ducts.

Mine does that too and I found a TSB about flipping some spring around in the compressor and it fixes it. Haven't tried it yet.

There are quite a few threads in this forum addressing this specific problem. All seem to indicate the permanent fix is compressor replacement.

Totalimmortal363 is correct too. The below Jaguar Tech Bulletin recommends servicing the compressor control valve and spring. This fix is specific to the 2000-2008 3.0L S-Type and certain X-Types too.

I used to have the same problem with my car as well.

I did the TSB repair to it, and apparently as odd as it seemed, it started working properly again. So, before throwing money at a new compressor, try out the TSB that Jumpin' Jag Flash attached.

The TSB is specific to certain models but it reportedly works on any of the compressors with the spring valve under the oval cover with two screws. (right side in pic)

You will have to evacuate and recharge the system to change the valve.
