Default actuator ventilation

Hi,
the actuator ventilation doesn't function. So the climate will only heat and your hear sometimes a "clack".
Does anybody know where they are in the jag and has pictures?
My Jag is a 2.7d.
Thanks for your help.

Aw thanks, you're the best. $20, that's what we agreed, right? I'll get that to you right away...

Volker, are you saying you can't switch the airflow between the dash, floor, and defrost ducts? Or are you just saying it's always warm? If always warm, the guide above will help isolate the fault.

What year is your car? That will help narrow down some details.

Courtesy of Gus, this guide shows the location of the door actuators on the '00-'02 models. Scroll down to page 3.4.18:

Jaguar Training Guide

Not sure about the later models, but the location is probably similar. Watch out because that guide covers more than just the S-Type, so not all information is applicable.

Hi Karl,
thanks for your answer. It's always warm. The air-condition works, but only heating no cooling. If I start the engine, I hear always "click, click, click". So I think I must replace the actuators.
The year of may Jag ist 2005 and it is th Diesel.

Volker,

The door actuators only change the source (fresh or recirc) and the exit point for the airflow. They have NO effect on the temperature. You may have two issues going on at the same time. Even if the door actuators are totally messed up and air is routed to the wrong location (floor, dash, or defrost), the air temperature should be correct.

Please read my troubleshooting guide (linked in previous post) to figure out the temperature problem. Specifically, see post #2 for details on how to test the DCCV.

For the door actuators, I deliberately didn't include much about them in the troubleshooting guide. Simply play with the buttons across the bottom of the control panel to manually select where the air is directed. If the airflow responds to the buttons and they don't make any excessive noise doing so, they are good.

Thanks Karl,
I've tested the DCCV and there is the problem. The door actuators are working correct. I think I must replace the DCCV valve.
Your troubleshooting guide is the best!
