Default After Market fuel pump recommendation request.

I am starting this new thread because it is of a slightly different subject.... don't beat me up.... been a really rough day.

I called the Jag dealer for a fuel pump, but the part is very expensive... about $810.00 after core charge plus tax. part# XR849199

Upon searching this forum first before posting this thread, I called the Ford dealership. The guy mentioned that the 2005 Lincoln LS cars were Jag parts. He thought I needed part number 4W4Z9H307AA for $1200.00, but was unsure if this is indeed the Ford Part I would need. But $1200... ouch.

Is there a quality tried and true aftermarket part that is available to replace the Jaguar fuel pump I need?

2005 Stype V6. When calling Jag, they said 2 different passenger side pumps available for that year. A standard gas tank, which has metal clamps instead of the plastic outer screw down ring and the plastic screw cap type for hybrid tanks.

My car has the plastic outer screw down ring. Part # XR849199

Sure did.

Third to last response he states he has a "standard tank" as I posted on the bottom of my question, there are two different pumps (passenger side) available for the 05 Stype.
I have a hybrid tank.

I also sent him a message asking him how his pump from Alibaba Parts is holding up. He is also in Guam... I am here in the states.

Well for a start there is no complete aftermarket fuel pump assembly with the plastic housing, level sensor, strainer etc. You need to change the actual pump on the inside of the housing.

This basic part;

All the other stuff about the fuel tank; Hybrid, OE, OE with seal kit, those changes were related to emissions and vapour recovery. Which changed the mounting points for the pumps and other stuff at the top of the tank.

If you remove your pump assembly, and replace just the pump motor as shown above, then the external layout of the tank is really irrelevant.

I rebuilt my fuel pump in about 30 minutes. The parts come from rockauto.com for $45 the kit included the pump and all the gaskets and filters. You may also want to purchase the filter located behind drivers side front tire just to be safe.

Thanks. I did replace the fuel filter this past Sunday. Thanks again.
I will searched rockauto. Put in my car info and searched under FUEL/AIR, but nothing for fuel pump. I found fuel filter, but no fuel pump or fuel pump rebuild kit

05 stype V6 3.0 base model

Thinking of actually hotwiring the pump just to verify my suspicions.

Thank you for asking. New fuel pump was not the solution to my issue. I was fortunate that the auto parts store gave me a refund on the new pump. Stumped.

I did that before I pulled the trigger and started throwing parts at it.
I got the replacement pump (only) by cross referencing the part number stamped/etched into the pump body.

swap took me 2 hours. Pump retention ring came off ridiculously easy.
only thing I was concerned about was the pigtail wiring that came with the aftermarket pump. Still working just fine.
