If you've tried to fit a Purolator, Wix, Fram, NAPA or most other aftermarket air filters into your factory S-Type air box, you already know they are all too long by about a quarter-inch, will not fit properly as a result, and will cause your engine to throw codes if you go ahead and stuff one into your air box....
I was determined not to pay the $27 plus tax Jaguar parts counter cost from our local dealership, so while I was out and about this afternoon I stopped into multiple auto parts stores lined up within a couple miles of each other, looking for an air filter that will actually fit our factory air box....
I found one at Autozone. It is the STP SA9513 and believe it or not, it measures exactly the same dimensions as my now-dirty genuine Jaguar air filter in the car. I paid $14.99 plus tax. I'll be installing it after our S-Type reaches 72,000 miles (just under 300 miles to go)....
