Smile Aftermarket muffler.

I would like to appreciate the S/C V8 music more than the standard system allows.
I've read somewhere that there is a muffler available that provides for three different settings - fully muffled;50% muffled & 25% muffled. The gas bypass valves are activated by the driver via a remote control. Does anyone know the manufacturers name & has anyone fitted this system successfully. Does the lack of backpressure when the 25% setting is engaged affect the motor negatively?

I just had a shop do the muffler delete, because we have a res. it keeps it somewhat tame. The good news is, once you're under the car, it's like 3 mins for a shop to remove the OEM mufflers so you can gauge the sound of it before they start bending pipes...

Thanks to everyone for your help - the muffler I've been looking for can be found on the following website:
XForce. Performance Mufflers, Exhaust Systems & Accessories. About the Varex™ remote controlled Sports muffler.

I'm sorry Bicardi 151 I don't understand what you mean by "mufffler delete" & "res" ?

The muffler delete is nothing more than replacing your mufflers with a straight pipe...

From front to back our STR's go from exhaust manifolds to catalytic converters (cats) to a resonator (res) and finally to mufflers...All three are sound reducing devices...If you change any two it's bound to be too loud...The "res" is generally very free flowing while the cats and mufflers are very restrictive flowing. Of the three, most muffler shops would agree that the mufflers are the easiest to remove, bend/fab up pipes and also go back to stock without modification...

The benefit by doing the muffler delete is a shop can remove the mufflers and you can hear the sound before they bend up pipes...

I'm actually looking into installing a couple of Dynomax VT mufflers which use a flap (they call it a Valve).

Notice the 90day, my buddies only lasted 8mo. I like the idea, but I do't think it's spot on yet.

Side note, I'm currently working on a boost actuated "cut-outs" for my Lightning. I've got it set to open at 8-10psi right now, but I'm having problems getting both banks to open at the same time. I think I'm going to fab a link to the TB's so they are locked togeather. I'm sure a good DIY guy could fab something simular for a STR.

Schultz, shoot dude, sorry for not reading your sig. Nope, never had one, though day dreamed of having a later model Lightening. That thang is sick to do a 11 sec. 1/4. I'm waiting to mid month for a tuner to fly in from California to tune her on a dyno. Come winter the blower is coming off for a rebuild port/polish, and new under blower coolant hose (small leak). Post a YouTube vid of the Lightening ideling then under full boost.
