Hello. I dont have a cd changer in my jag, so im thinking about putting an aftermarket Double DIN pioneer touch unit.
I have search after some info about this, and some seem to say its no problem to replace the original unit, but some say that it will cause problems with the navigation unit and the climate control.
Maybe you can explain this to me

Yup.....
1999 to 2002 - uses a Ford standard radio. Nav has a separate screen in place of a storage box.
2002.5 to 2008 - Non-Nav car really easy with a dash kit.
Navigation equipped cars, not so much. The refresh for 2002.5 moved the S Type to Jaguar specific audio modules. The Nav cars also integrate other functions like climate control. So, need to redo a bunch to remove all that and revert to car to standard climate controls.

Ahh..
You have an early car.. so, it should be easy enough.
There should be a wiring harness adapter available through a stereo installation shop. That should be fairly easy for you since you are in Europe.. Not so easy for the North American folks.
Now, if you have a factory navigation system, you may want to find the storage drawer for the dash since I'm pretty sure it will be a dead display once the head unit is replaced. Other than that, it should be pretty easy.
For those that are curious. Here is the early dash
Standard Radio (note the Ford radio is a double DIN size) with the storage drawer

Here is the navigation dash... see the display in place of the drawer..

And............... an aftermarket radio (see, no dash kit....)
