Default Air box flap, ecu reset

How and why do youvremove the flap in airbox? What gain is there to be had? Also I put on a 1.5 lb pulley and would like to do a hard reset, I've searched but can't find instructions ? And will I have to reprogram windows and Parking brake afterwards? I assume navigation spilt be affected or will it?

A hard reset is unhooking the battery and then touching the unhooked negative and positive battery cables together for 20 sec or so the drain the capacitors. Yes you will have to set the windows and parking brake. I don't have nav so not to sure about that?

The air box flap is a small piece of plastic in the bottom of the air box below the filer. It is held in with one small phillips screw on the top. remove the screw and the flap comes out. The idea is you get more air in the box, any gains are minimal at best. I did just for the heck of it.

Nav isn't affected by the reset. I did it for the sound.
