Default Air conditioner blowing hot

This has been discussed at length at this forum I had the problem last summer and just kept the air control on manual at 61 degrees F and adjusted the temp useing fan speed. This year I decided to get it fixed with a new dual air control valve ($325 at the dealer and $189 on line) Before doing so, I, for some reason, tapped on the metal part of the control valve with a small wrench and wiggled the electrical conection with my fingers. Guess what, for the last two weeks it works perfectly. I have no faith this will be a lasting fix, but at least I know the problem for sure. Regards, Don

Don, reminds me of my old chevy pickup, I could hear the starter wanting to start the truck but not enough umpff. Rap on the starter and presto turn the key it started.

Duct tape and bubble gum, get a new DCCV valve!

I wouldn't wait on changing that DCCV. It may be working now with a "tap" but the other side effect of a failed or failing DCCV is damage to the climate control module. But, if you've read up on the other threads, you already know all about that....

It happened to me as well. My DCCV valve went south in the dead of winter luckily and it also took out my climate control module. Luckily they were both replaced under warranty. If you do fry your CCM you may be able to repair it. There is an article about the procedure in this forum. You might try the fix noted in this post.

Count me in on also having to replace the CCM. I knew I had a leaking DCCV, but procrastinated replacing it.
