Akebono pads now grab like OEM did?

Bob, I was never much of a "brake man". Kinda left that duty up to the gods cause I was too focused on power. Had the Achebono's for 8 k and wouldn't notice difference even if I were Tanner Foust. Perhaps you have a heavy leg and a neurological tic to boot (no pun intended)? Just ease down that right leg, don't "jam it".

I'm wondering if it's all the wet weather we've had. The rust gets into the pads a bit and makes them bite a bit for a while? I'll have to see if comes and goes.
My car is sitting outside for at least another month while my race engine rebuild project keeps incurring delays. Argh!
The grabby brakes are definitely there.

Staatsof,
I put the Akebono pads in my '05 V6 car shortly after I bought it. I have noticed the "intial bite" coming up a fair amount in the last several hundred miles (now close to what you are seeing, about 4K total on the pads) but still far from what I would call "grabby".
I heard it takes a LONG time for ceramics to get fully bedded in compared to an organic or even a semi-metallic pad...meaning a couple thousand miles vs a few hundred in normal driving. I am up at around 4K and just attributed that extra time to my sedate street driving pace and the fact that I did not machine or replace the rotors when I put them in so they had to "un-bed" the old friction material first. I know I will get ridiculed for doing that on this forum but in partial defence I wound NEVER do that on a car I plan to track.
This whole thing seems odd in that initial bite is something ceramic pads are definitely not known for. Please keep me/us posted.
Thanks,
Wally
