Alarm light code 16 intermittent no start
I have a 2000 S-Type 4.0 and have intermittent no start trouble. It only happens occasionally and maybe by coincidence sometimes when I relock and unlock with the key after the first no start it will start right up.
When it chooses not to start it will usually catch for a few seconds for the first two or three times. After that it acts as if the fuel pump is out. I have checked the relay and it works fine. I do usually get the alarm light code 16 if I wait it out. I found a page in another post that has these codes but I am unable to understand what the trouble is.
Some maybe helpful history: The fuel pump is about six months since new. I have had the passenger side lower ball joint break and the wheel and tire crashed up into the wheel well and frayed some wire coverings. These were re wrapped by a shop when this happened two years ago, I was halfway across the country so I couldn't do this myself. The last two times it would not start the Engine Failsafe Mode message was displayed the drive immediately before the no start. I also have no power to the climate control blower motor, confirmed by testing the blower, resistor, and the "hot" blower motor wire. I have rigged a bypass for the blower but I am thinking maybe this fraying on the wiring harness is causing my troubles?
Any ideas?

So it sounds like from answers in this thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...l-pump-112149/ that it very well could be the frayed wiring at the passenger side wheel well. I didn't want to hijack his thread.
Does anyone know if the 2001 Lincoln LS harness is the same? Where I live there are not a lot of choices at the wrecking yards. I did some recon at my local yard and got the harness most of the way out on an LS but I didn't have all the tools with me I needed. It's quite a large harness that spans the whole of the front of the car.
If anyone knows about this harness and could let me know if it would work that would be great. I know I could just rewrap those wires again but I'd like a more permanent solution.
