I appreciate all the kind responses and more importantly the knowledge gained on this forum regarding repairs and upkeep on my STR. I was fortunate in that my patience paid off when I purchased the car four years ago with 20K on the odometer and started with an almost flawless example.

I lowered the STR with H&R springs, replaced brake pads with ceramics, replaced the radiator, expansion tank and upgraded the torque convertor and a few other minor tweaks. It took three wheel alignments until I got it perfect.

It was a joy to drive and on occasion found the opportunity to perform rolling maintenance with an "Italian tune-up". I am not a fan and/or advocate of street racing but not above a brief smackdown when warranted and safe to do so. Put that down to my advancing years and a background in public safety.

Thanks guys. Remember it's not the crash that kills ya it's the sudden stop. Capiche...

Beautiful car , Searanch. Its a shame you had to sell it. I was sad when I sold my 1986 XJ6 a few years ago. It was my first Jag and I had a lot of happy memories associated with it. But I didn't drive it hardly at all and I can't stand letting good cars sit and decay from lack of use. You did the right thing to send it where it will be used and cherished. It's good you have lots of great photos of it to help you hold onto the memories.
A question I have is what do you drive in its stead?

Indeed a very sweet looking car, thanks for sharing the photos.

But please, if you could, refer the new owner to our list. We sure want to try to keep that car "in the family" and to not loose touch with, it, or its new owner, or with you...
