I can't get it to find the data, I put it on the desktop and even in the program location with no luck.

Jtis and jepc are much easier to install than alldata.

Ok, are you using the disc copy/import program form the alldata program folder in programs and choosing the network option to import the data from the Imp31 folder?

Maybe have a read through the instructions again as you seem to be the only one having issues

along with my hosts file and Adblock for chrome https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...biglidom?hl=en

or this for firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir.../adblock-plus/

and Ghostery https://www.ghostery.com/en-GB/

I never seem to get any adverts or popups.

For those not comfortable editing the hosts file, you can use this software https://www.brightfort.com/spywareblaster.html it will download and add known malicious sites to your hosts file.

If nothing else, it's a damn good list of **** sites LOL.

Seriously though, I wonder how URL load times are affected by such a huge hosts file.

Thanks for sharing, police666!

why would i want to block the **** sites ??? lol.

i've tested load speed with my hosts file and with no entries, no difference on a pentium core duo T7200 @ 2ghz with 4gb of ram & win7 ultimate.

by the time my eyes move from the enter key to the screen, the page has loaded.

I've downloaded everything but before I get started can the huge data file be located on a DVD that's inserted for operation each time?

i've not tested that but it should be able to, as that was the original way it was intended to work, it would need to be a dual layer disc as its 7.14gb when uncompressed.

have you not got any space left on your hard drive ?

My system drive is a 40GB SSD and I had to redirect the default download location so it didn't end up there but frankly I'd rather not clutter up my storage with something this large that's only accessed very occasionally. My JTIS works this way.

How difficult is going to be to modify whatever to point to file on there?

try this
uncompress it to hard disk so you have an imp31 folder, burn the imp31 to dvd
delete the files from your hard disc.

make sure dvd is in drive, start alldata and it should look for the data from the dvd drive by default.

i think.

or

place the imp31 folder on a usb memory stick

use the import data program (instructions in instructions) pick the network option, and direct it to your usb stick, it doesn't actually import the data to your hard disc it directs alldata where to look for it, so as long as the sb stick is plugged in and assigned the same drive letter each time t should work.
