+1 replace the engine with a used core - if you can find one since you need a SC engine...

Well since you wanna be an *** about i guess I’ll go ahead and prove you wrong. Not only have i found an entire set of pistons for less then 1k but IM NOT ASKING ABOUT PISTONS! I’m looking for a good used block...... plain and simple. So again....... if you don’t have any info or leads to such part, please don’t respond. Thanks.

To begin with, your attitude aside, you have not indicated your location which is a factor in the availability of the item which you seek...

On this forum it is very rare to see arrogance and sheer cussedness as you have exhibited in your post.

YOU are the one being a total ***!

First, I'm not an "***" but an authority on everything Jaguar.

I gave you sound advice.

BTW, who buys a Jaguar with 3 roached cylinders?

Good luck with your rebuild bud. Now you can call me an *** ?

Rest assured you'll never get any advice from me and knowing this forum anyone else with that **** attitude of yours.

Since you have all the answers, don't ask...

I have very helpful information for you and a 7 Day Ban.

We follow basic standards of courtesy and respect in all communications on the forum. A good guideline is if you wouldn't say it to someone's face then don't post it.

If you decide to return after the ban, I expect to see two things:
1. the courtesy of posting an Intro with some details about your vehicle and your location.
2. no repetition of that type of rude and arrogant response.

If this doesn't happen then I'll be more than happy to make the ban permanent.

Graham

Thank you.

In all the years of being here this was a first! Again, I thought my reply was thoughtful based on the scenario presented.

Have a great weekend everyone and carry on... now I'm off to change the fluid, pan and seals in my 6HP26 trans ?

You probably already know this, but the cylinder block and the bed plate are two separate units.
They were never available as separate parts from Jaguar. Jaguar only ever sold the complete short block.
From what I understand the two parts are machined as a matching pair. There is no gasket, but a special sealant is required between the two parts.

If it is any help I think the STR short block assembly (remanufactured & exchange) part number was AJ89188E. If you search the on-line official Jaguar parts catalogue you will find this same part number is used in some XK's and even XF's. This may help to widen your search for the part you need:
