Default Ambient temperature sender

2001 S-type. Had inaccurate readings on the outside temperature, so I replaced the sender. Now the reading is 75 deg F and does not change even thought the outside temp is 86 deg F. Does anyone know the what the voltage at the sender connector should be and the resistance of the sender at room temp.

Thanks,
Howard

I'd read it via OBD and it sounds like you need to chase the wiring etc.

Howard, I’m not positive, but think the resistance values are the same as the evaporator and duct temp sensors in the HVAC system. There’s a chart in the middle of post #3 here:

From your description, it sounds like you’ve got two things going on. It appears your original sensor was inaccurate. The replacement seems to be failed in a different manner, stuck on one temperature. Play with the two sensors at various temperatures and see what the resistance looks like.
