Default Another AC question

My 2003 S-type is not cooling enough or correctly. I noticed that the left side (USA Model) is ten degrees cooler than the left. A thermometer read 60F on the Left and 70F on the right in the middle vents. I was in the garage and it might have been mid to upper 80F.

I had purchased a charge kit with a gauge and trigger. I connect to the low port set the AC controls accordingly and took a reading, as per the instructions. I was half way in the green zone and then it jumped to the red zone when something clicked, I am guessing the the compressor.

I did a visual on the control valve and there is no outside reason to think anything is wrong. This car has lived it's life in the south, Georgia and South Carolina.. I don't know how often or when the heater has been used and bit afraid to set it on for fear of not getting the AC back. I do not the heater has not been used in the past two years.

The car does get and say cool not where it should be.

So the temperature is not cold enough and I get different temps with from one side of the car to the other.

Help

Thank you,

Charlie

Spend time reading through this thread. Karl did a great job outlining the steps to diagnose and repair any HVAC issues:

Thank you. I did but it was far to in depth as I could easily spend days working it the way he outlined and I don't have assess to the parts to swap in and out. Somehow I think there may more focused diagnostic or solutions at least I hope so.

Check the voltage and continuity to the DCCV. On some of the later cars, the DCCV can cause a high-amperage draw that can damage the control module.

The troubleshooting guide covers many possible faults, but is broken down into different sections based on symptoms. Follow the steps given in post #2 to test the DCCV. Don't worry about the other sections for now.

The only tool needed is a thermometer, which you already have. Follow the set-up instructions carefully to help determine whether the DCCV itself is at fault or if it is responding to a bad input.

and remember if the DCCV is faulty, your climarte control module might be too since the dccv usually burns some traces on its board (sometimes fixable)
