Default Any chance of R.P. if I welded my rear diff's spider gears?

I spoke to my mechanic and while he shook his head, often, he agreed to do it...This concept is fueled by the diff is leaking, so I was going to change the fluid...Anything else I should consider when doing this?

Usually not a good idea in a street car. You have to take the whole diff out to make sure you don't cook the bearings, and you are going to kill your tires. Not to mention that when it rains out it will be scary as it will always want to go straight.

Don't do it Bacardi! Have patience my son, a Quaife LSD could one day be in your Christmas sock, or you may want to treat yourself for being a good boy.

If RP is reduced performance- a locked diff will mean that one of the two rear tires will have to slip/skid on every corner. Horrible for tire life and for handling.

I have to agree with the naysayers. It's hard on parts and WILL noticeably have a negative affect on cornering.

As far as your question goes, as Mikey said while cornering both rear tires will be spilling the same speed during turns which is not normally the case. The outside tire would spin faster then the inside. I do not know how much tolerance the computer has to wheels speeds being different then expected and in turn triggering RP. So my final answer is I don't know.
