Rambunctious Jaguar,

Tomorrow! There's nothing like pre-planning!!

Not knowing what,s been done on the car and the service history, here,s a list of jobs I would suggest, depending on you know the history or not.

Change air filter, or at least take it out and have a look, clean the filter housing.

Clean the MAF.

Wipe the Throttle body and throttle plate (carefully) (you may have been there already)

Change the fuel filter,

Change the brake fluid.

Change the coolant.

Change the power steering fluid.

Check the pollen filter, clean /renew as required.

Do you know if the transmission oil and filter has ever been changed? If not change it. Soon…..

Oil change at 5K a little too soon, are you having issues?

The rear diff oil change, you’ll be surprise. Quick check remove the filler plug and see if there is metallic crud all around the magnet at the end of the fill plug.

Check the pads for wear and see how long you have left.

Check the tyres for uneven wear, and find out what has cause it. Suspension wear, wheel alignment.

Check the battery, and if older than 5 years think about renewing it, with a good name brand.

If you have a code reader, scan the car and see if anything pops up. (monthly)

That all I can think of, great car, great drive.

Hello bydand thaNk you for the reply
I'm still in class but I'll try to respond

I've planned a month and a half in advance I'd like to think lol
I've addressed a few of those concerns
I changed air filter less than 5k still clean
I've cleaned maf, throttle body, tps, fuel filter, recently
Had rotors n pads changed (something I plan to assess and learn)

I will research brake flushing,

Coolant is fresh thanks to a thermostats washer 90 miles away from home thank you triple A only cost me a meal for the driver n ice cream

I need to flush powersteering ,

I changed pollen and cleaned the drainage 2 months ago
Tranny fuid n fikter\housing changed less than 15-20k ago

Suspension needs a good look over battery's new also 2 months ago

And around 5k I know its a bit early but I truly drive her hard and exercise her thoroughly

Sorry I cannot provide exact figures I'm still in class and could not resist posting, thank you again at suggestion on the brake and fluid flush ?

Any suggestions on oil filter ??
By T6 5W40 do you mean Rotella T6?

Strange choice of oil.

No need or benefit in using a so called 'diesel oil' in an engine like this.

I choose it because of thicker viscosity,

anyone have information regarding the mounting spacer washer/isolator and center seal ?

I wanted to test the rotella out and if I didn't like it I wouldn't feel bad changing it out early because it was only 17 bucks a jug

Thumbs up Rotella

Rotella T6 has a good reputation.

It carries an API rating and viscosity that are within factory
specifications.

That being the case, no one can point to objective statements of
fact that its use would be contra-indicated. Personal opinion or FUD
do not constitute fact.

I'm running T6 right now, but returning to the 15w40 T5 because
the engine is happier with the T5 and there is no VVT for me
to consider.

Which benefits have you seen from running the t6 plums ?? Any negative signs or symptoms for me to watch out for ?? I've never used anything other than 5w30

Nothing negative on the T6 really. I just think that it was quieter
on startup with the T5.

Since I can't see any difference in cold cranking, I'm going back to my
preferred regimen of heavier viscosity oils. If I lived in the Bay Area,
I would never have even tried the T6. The T5 has a pour point of
about -30*C which is plenty good for most climates already.

I might miss the whole 0.5 mpg improvement in fuel economy ... but probably not.

Why would you have not tried it ? I haven't used it yet, should I not ??

Because in a sub-tropical climate like the Bay Area, I would not be
at all concerned about cold cranking in freezing weather. Additionally,
I have no concern about the VVT operation because it does not
exist on a supercharged engine.

It's a personal preference.

But, both the T6 and T5 oils are excellent.

I think that if you're swapping viscosity/brands/API ratings/types expecting to hear or feel a difference in how the engine operates, you might be disappointed.

The Rotella T6 was on sale from walmart for 16.99 after $5 dollar mail in rebate.. I had originally picked up Mobil One to play it safe, but I had read a lot of positive reviews and comments regarding the quality and detergency of T6 so I decided to pick it up, I have yet to try it, Ill change my oil after I accomplish the repairs above.
