Ya, I meant OIL. I guess I was hoping for like 5 filters...Can't seem to find a vehicle selector at fleetfiler.com

 

As you may or may not know aftermarket filter offerings for all year S-type V8s (reguardless of whether or not its an "R", 4.2L or 4.0L) are pretty much interchangeable, but they are also all over the place with diferent sizes and shapes. I think the diferent sizings are more about space constrictions than actual filter performance/design. With all that said I believe the corect wix # for the R is 57302 and the rest of the 4.2L and 4.0L fleet can use a bigger 51228. On a side note filters from a 1977-1989 porsche 911 will just barely fit offering a bit more oil capacity(always a good thing) and more filter media (again, always a good thing).

 

oh, and by the way all 3.0L jags use the wix 51214, which can be substituted with the enlarged 51515 again giving the benefits of a larger can.However, if I were a V6 owner, I would use the Mobil 1 filter equivelant to the 51515 the M1-401; its a great filter that would probably be fine for two oil changes of 5,000mi (10,000 miles total on filter).
