Default ANYONE INTERESTED

Hi guys

I was talking to the guys who built the 4l80e trans in my vett. For around $3000.00 they will builda 5R55N trans with nothing but the best ofparts and fix all the problems with this trans. Larger servos, Carbon Fiber Bands, Extra Alto Clutches In The clutch Drums, Presure Valve Changes, Will shift rightbut not hard shifts. You will need to send them your trans. It has to be the trans fromyour car only. When you get it back all willwork properly. This is not your normal rebuild, this isa rebuild to last. They also stand behind their work. $3000.00 may sound high to some, but standered rebuilt is about 1400 to 1500. We are talking about a lot of extra work. Cutting outlarger servos, More clutches, the best of everything. Dealers want up to 5000 just for a reman. When you start to think about it its not a bad deal. Get What You Pay For. If interested let me know.
Regards

That is a great price. Problem for me is that our S-type just broke 30k miles on the odo & were shopping for a house. Where is this being done, state?

I would think the car would be be out of service for about 10 to 15 days. Have to ship the trans to them, do the job and shipped back to you.

I'd love to pull this P.O.S. 5 speed auto out of my 02' Sport and drop it on the foot of whoever designed it. I've had it re-flashed 4 times. It still surges while in 4th gear. 3rd to 4th shift is just straight-up retarded fast..as if it's afraid to be in3rd gear..then once it's in fourth it does this weirddouble rpm drop onto it's face. Oh..didI mention??? I absolutely despise this transmission.I thought theFord A4LD and A4LDE was the worst trans ever..I was wrong! DidI mention???...I hate this transmission!!!

I'd take a newer 6 spd Jag auto in a heartbeat..perhaps a swap is in order?

Did some searching..ZF 6 spds can be picked up fairly cheap ($1,000.00). Hmmm..the wheels are starting to turn now!!! Anyone do a 5spd to 6 spd swap yet?
