Anyone used Chipexpress in their 2.7D?

Hi, first post in the big boys bit of the forum.
I have a 2.7D Auto and have been looking at Chipexpress because of the easy installation and removal, and the lack of daft claims. Also, £395 seems reasonable for someone NOT to be monkeying around with the ECU on a permanent basis.
Anyone used one, and what happened when/if you wound it up to 275BHP?
Detail here.
Jaguar S-Type 2.7D 207 PS 435 Nm | Diesel Tuning with CHIP Express™
They do make a lot of claims.....
Are these borne out by experience?
Have you had a remap done, and what did it do for fual consumption?
Thanks

They do make a lot of claims.....

- Unlike a remap our systems cannot be detected or deleted during routine servicing
- Does not require the removal of your vehicle's original programme settings
- Superior performance on demand whilst keeping the engine standard at idle
- Eliminates flat spots, reduces turbo lag and sharpens throttle for a smoother drive
- Select higher gears sooner, change down less, reduce revs - better economy
- Use less throttle for similar driving conditions, further reducing consumption
- Makes more of the RPM range usable, for safer overtaking
- Compliant with vehicle emission standards, suitable for diesel particulate vehicles
- Suitable for manual or automatic vehicles
- Will not invalidate your vehicle warranty
- Produces more low down torque compared to a remap - helps towing
- Comes with full photographic guide for your vehicles engine
- Full 3 year warranty for your peace of mind
- "No quibble" refund within 14 days if you are not 100% delighted

Not had a jag done but have had others remapped and found an increase in power at lower revs, fuel consumption stayed about the same.
I had them remapped (not a plug in tuning box)
This looks to do the same (increase fuel rail pressure) but cheaper.

Hey there,
I can't honestly say about the tuning box setups.
There saeem to be some good reviews around for them and some not so good......I'm not really 100% sure why but I've always stayed away from them.
I've had several cars remapped professionally, by Saab UK, Seditas of Ayr and Stirling Audi.
Generally they have run about £400, approx double that if going with the OEM on a brand new car.
You can expect to see around 25% - 30% increase in bhp and also added torque. When on a long run and driven normally, you can expect to get around 10% - 15% fuel economy savings to boot, so if you do long distances or lots of miles there is a payback to it.
Hope it helps

Probably a poor choice, but check on the UK forum because there are no diesel jags in USA/Canada etc so you're going to get very few comments from 2.7D jag owners here.
The diesel jag has a whole bunch of potential problems unique to it so it's a bit brave to mess with it... I sure hope you don't have one with a DPF!

Last week I fitted a chip express to my 2.7 diesel XF Jaguar. It took about 15 minutes and the first drive showed much better response, smoother changes and better torque. I have also monitored the fuel consumption and this has dropped and I frequently get 6.5 L/100kms from highway driving. The chip arrived in NZ from the UK in 10 days and the company lived up to all its claims.
