Default Back home with STR.. First impressions//first issue

Well I'm back. 700 mile drive back so got a good feel for the car.

Overall, this is my favorite car so far that I have owned. As previously mentioned I have had(among others) a modded 206 Volvo s60R and a slightly modded mercedes c32 amg.

I can state easily that the STR is really the perfect balance of both(stock at that)

Comfort. Tie Volvo// STR (volvo has best seats ever though)
Amenities: Volvo..but it was 3 years newer
Luxury: STR
Looks: STR
Handling: Volvo easily
Off the line: AMG easily
Highway passing: STR..I feel its best strength. 70-100 is ridiculous.
Highway Cruising: STR easily.

So I am thrilled.

I have however run into my first problem which is the headlights.

I did alot of reading about the auto leveling and them being low etc and the fixes.

My passenger side is fine, has the full array of manual adjusment ability and is properly positioned.

The driver side was very low however, so I manually adjusted higher, but even fully raised, it is still far to low, much liower than passenger side. Does this sound like I need the fix posted by brutal, or a relearn??

Thanks !!

We appreciate your comparison observations!

A relearn costs nothing and is the least invasive. Couldn't hurt.

Glad to hear you made it back safe with the new car!

Put a upper pulley on it and cold air filter from Mina and you will be second guessing the off the line AMG thing

Also get some lowering springs for it, I rode in a friends who had a set on his 4.2 and it handled great, only better with the STR's!

So what do you have planned for it since you had a long drive to think about mods

How much are the rotors?

650-700 for all corners 4 including pads. I have only ever ordered the cross drilled, non slotted for every car i have owned without ever a warping or cracking issue. I use brakeperformance.com. Best product for the price I have ever come across brake wise.

just curious if you tracked your MPG on the trip home??? are you like the rest of us with STR's in the high 25ish range on the highway cruising? and congrats on the car, if you get a restricted performance light, i got a few within a few days of picking mine up, seems it sat for a while and i kept getting lean codes, after driving a couple thousand miles it has disappeared

I did..it was below 25mpg......23-24....but that was because my average speed was 79....which over 700 miles and 2 days with stopping means I was going ...really....fast

Average 79? Way to go!

When you get used to it are you going to go fast instead?

And get tickets
