My backrest support will not move back and forth when i hit the switch. i get a clicking sound but it doesnt operate the backrest to move. Does anyone know what can be done?

 

this is on an 03 S-type. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

 

I'd guess disassembly and testing of each part. I wouldn't fancy doing it!

 

This happened to my driver seat function that lifts the front of the seat up and down. I was told the seat had to be removed and gears and motors checked. The service manager told me he had limited success with some of his customers by rapidly pushing the contol button back and forth until it "unsticks". Good luck! It didn't work for me, so I live without the function.
