Ball joints popped out?
Hey guys,
I’m fixing up a 2005 Jag STR which had been sitting for several years. I just noticed that it appears that two rear ball joint type linkages are popped out on both sides at the rear. See photos. Are these ball joints? Any idea how to fix? Can I just hammer them back in with some grease?
Thanks in advance!

Technically it is a ball joint . Though it’s called a swaybar link .
I think hammering them on would be a rough repair .
especially when they are not expensive.
aftermarket at least wold be still better than leaving them worn .

+1 on looking at all other suspension components.
Not good 'workshop' practice trying to reuse those.
On a 15 year old car unless they have been recently changed you will likely find that the rear lower trailing arms have leaking hydra-mount bushes, and quite likely the front lower arms as well.
Also high possibility that all four upper wishbone ball joints have perished as well.
If you want maximum safety, performance and ride you need to address this.
