Default Battery Drain

2002 S Type. I've done all the suggested checks and the only outcome has been if I pull the 40a fuse from the trunk fuse box the amp reading drops from 1.17a to .5a
Could the fuse box itself be the problem?
Thanks

From TSB S414-01 what readings do you get?

Hi Mike,

I highly doubt the fuse box is the problem. Wiring diagrams are here, near the top:

JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource

Before you dig too deep, determine if the 2002 or 2002.5 wiring diagram is appropriate for your car. Major changes were made mid year. The easiest way to tell is to look at the shape of the front and read power distribution boxes. Each set of wiring diagrams has a section labeled "fuse box location" or similar near the front. We may have got into some trouble on a recent thread using the wrong diagrams for an '02 (Steve, hint, hint, you still there?...)

Once you determine which document is correct for your car, look at section 01.2. In both cases, the big 40A fuse in the trunk feeds about a half dozen fuses in the primary junction box. This is located outboard of the US passenger footwell.

Also, even with that big fuse pulled, 0.5A is still way too much. Did you wait long enough for the car to enter sleep mode?

Here's a good write-up of the method to test for parasitic drains on the battery. Is this what you were using?:
