Battery drain - dead after 3 days

Hmm... Those actions may have stopped the issue but they are not the cause.. Need to investigate why those items are causing a drain if left on after you turn the car off. It should not matter.. I have never had any car where the battery would drain if you left the climate control or radio on..JagV8 is pretty good with electrical systems if you are willing to test stuff. He and other users may be able to get to the root cause if you want to figure it out.

I have similar problem with my STR, the battery just drained in few days... got some tips from brutal to check the ignition switch (just the electrical part). so i called Nalley and order the parts. (which was 3 months ago) and still sitting on my desk.
Found simpler (still temporary solution) i installed a trinkler charger to the battery and doing fine every since.

I would start with the ignition switch. Just the electrical switch, not the lock part. Do a search here on "ignition switch". Look for posts by a user "Brutal". He is a Jaguar Dealer Service Tech here in the US. He is the one that has pointed users to this issue. It is pretty common. What happens in short is that the switch doesn't fully power off, leaving some modules on. With yours, it may be enough to shut off power to the radio and climate control first... The remaining modules that stay on may not be enough of a drain to kill your battery. Just remember, the more cycles of charge and discharge a battery goes through, the shorter it's life.. I know, because I have a battery tender on my collector car, it's battery has to be replaced every couple of years. I do it because with out it, I was killing a battery every year.

i just checked all posts regarding battery Drain.. and the conclusion is
90% chances are faulty ignition switch.
10% chances are electric modules.
i think i should change the switch first and if don't works ill go for modules.
now i'm waiting for full access so i could see the diagram attachments from other users..

As Josworth said, if you keep a lead-acid battery near the top of its capacity, i.e. if you don't discharge it much and therefore don't have to charge it much either, it will last very much longer. But if you have an application like those battery wheelchair things that old people use, there is another kind of lead-acid called the "deep-discharge" type that's specially built for being discharged down to near empty.

Hi,
The chart attached will tell you what you should be getting when the car is "asleep".
The usual suspects,
When you remove the key from the ignition, has the little flap closed?.
Confirm all courtesy lights go off.
If you have the auto function for lights, switch them off.
Switch off the steering column adjustment.
Switch off the auto function on wipers if fitted.
Confirm when locked, no warning on message centre.
These few things should help you track it down then all you have to do is rectify it.
Hope this helps,

Hey, Guys,
My 94 XJS battery has been failing after sitting for only a week. This is unusual as she oftens sits longer than that. I went to charge it and found liquid in the tray beneath the battery. Does not smell like batter acid. Could this be water? Charge was slowwww and I interupted it before it was finished when I noticed the liquid. Any ideas? Also, if the battery (a TrueFit from my Jag mechanic) is bad, can you recommend an aftermarket brand. I do use a trickle charger for long naps.
