Battery drain. Intermittent electrical fault?
#22
Thanks everyone for your input. I so wish I was handy and could tinker around but I am only good putting jumper cables on my car. We think my dead battery issues is solved as for 1 week my jumper cables weren't needed! However I think I may have a new problem or perhaps all connected who knows. So a week ago today a new alternator installed after the 1st one they installed turned out to be faulty.... since new alternator has been installed I have had no dead battery issues but now the first thing in the morning the engine turns over but needs repeated attempts. I drive my kid to school which is 1.5 miles and then I go to start again the same problem(2nd start up of the day). I drive it to the mechanic which is 4 miles and of course starts up like a charm(3rd). I have made notes it's only been happening while sitting over night or 4hours or plus. It has no issues when I am running around the day while I guess the engine is hot. It seems to be when the engine has cooled off. The auto electrical has asked me to drop if off this afternoon so he can crank it up tomorrow first thing to see what's happening. I have had this car since April and has spent more time at the mechanics more than my home. I have done searches on this new issues I am having with no luck. Anyone else have any ideas?for

When you say passenger seat? As in the electronics of the seat? I only ask because I had my friend son visit form overseas for 2 weeks. I was driving him to summer camp. One day he discovered that the passenger seat was electric and started playing with it like it was some kind of toy. I didn't think anything of it but it was the next day I had a dead battery and it was working 3 weeks before hand after installing 2 modules that were draining the battery before. Just curious if this is something I should look into too.

Update
auto electrican replaced 2 relays for my a/c. So far so good -fingers cross. Oh also my hand break would automatically turn on when I would turn off the car. I never use the hand break anyhow and never bothered with it. The auto electrican told me it was faulty however it never came up with the message on my dash board. I asked if this would affect the running of the car, i.e. Battery draining/ taking awhile to crank and they said no. Well anyhow, I fiddled with the hand break by turning it on and off and now the dash board tells me the handbrake is faulty and it will not turn on. This is the only change that has been made and my car is running great!
