Hey guys! I have a 2005 S-type that keeps draining my battery overnight!
Getting hella frustrating. I have 4 relays that stay on after i shut the engine off...
R11, R5, R2, and R4. Combined after shutoff they are drawing about 2 amps. After 20mins w trunk light fuse removed im getting a .660 milliamp draw.
Ive noticed after engine shut off, the headlights will randomly flash on for a quick second and then off; And this happens quite often. I just put a brand new battery in 2 weeks ago and checked the battery under load and came out good. Ive also checked for moisture/ bad wires on the control modules and the power dist boxes. I didnt find anything out of the ordinary![Icon Doh](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_doh.gif)
Im just having a hard time figuring out why the hell these relays wont cut off.

Hmm, I'm no electrical expert. So, I'll start with what the relays listed control, according to JTIS...
R11 - Front Fog Lamps
R5 - EMS Control Relay
R2 - Heated Oxygen Sensor Relay
R4 - Throttle Motor Relay
So, strangely it actually seems like the car isn't actually shutting off. Does the alarm set? Is there someone you know who could check the ignition switch? I'm just thinking out loud. Hopefully someone who knows more about this stuff will chime in...

Thinking about this further you could have corroded wires behind your front bumper.
You should be pulling approx 30mA after approx 45mins. I measured mine recently at 50mA.
You've got relays in your trunk that feed other systems and relays but the fog lamp drain and your headlights flashing is a bit odd.

I wonder if that is the same issue I've been having. I had the battery replaced 4 months ago and it's dead again several times. I do know that the ignition switch sometimes doesn't go off or if you unlock and relock the car the ignition switch sometimes comes alive. The battery store guy measured the drain and it was pulling 4 amps after the car was shut off and the trunk light was shut down.
I also had my DSC system fault light come on but it magically extinguished today after I left my Jaguar Mechanic to schedule an appointment tomorrow. Hopefully that it so I finally get down to why my battery always gets drained to nothing.

Hi sinikal,
I had the same problem. try pulling fuse # 33 in the passenger side kick panel fuse box and see if this allows your car to go to sleep mode after 40 minutes or so. It was determined that the gcem is bad. I ended up installing a switch to open that circuit when i parked the car for a long period of time (at night or at work) . I no longer have a battery drain problem.

hi there all frustrated people that common parasitic battery drain was driving me crazy.now i have located the problem hard to imagine that could cause all that headache, even went about and bought a Booster pack which was useless then bought a unit called 'Priority start' attach it between battery and car and would cut off power from car when it sensed voltage level below 11.8 volts, that saved me for a while.
the ac relay was stuck ON causing the compressor clutch to stay active even after vehicle was turned off locked.ordered a new relay in the meantime cleaned out the points on the old one and its working fine now.
so anyone having this problems check it out.
