Default Battery light on

I was recently bumped from behind in my 2007 Jaguar STR
while on the road and just realized my battery light is now on. I was wondering what would cause it, could the battery or wire be knocked out of place? Anyone out there with any knowledge would be greatly appreciated

Check the battery connections in the trunk and the maxi fuse. There is a large fuse box back there too. If the positive cable got jarred into a ground point it would blow the maxi i think

If that's the case will a new battery fix the problem?
And also I hope the alternator is damaged as well from this

No a new battery will not fix it unless the battery shorted internally. The jolt probably grounded the positive terminal blowing the max fuse

That is the positive terminal. The max fuse is behind the battery. To get to it easily you need to remove the battery and check things. If the battery got jarred enough it can touch a ground point

Alright thanks mate, really appreciate it. So most likely it's just a fuse replacement but I'll let a mechanic look it over to find the correct one. Where can I get good quality fuses for the S-Type?
