Default Belt and Pulley help

Guys

I've got a rather nasty belt squeal/squeak/whine at cold start. After the car warms up, this condition goes away.

After researching here a bit, I'm thinking I'm going to bite off serpentine belt replacement.

That said, Tbird6 previously listed a part list as follows:

C2C37064 - PULLEY, IDLE
C2C37063 - BELT DRIVE
C2C37057 - TENSIONER
C2C46862 - PULLEY, IDLE
C2C37056 - BRACKET IDLER MT
C2C37055 - NO DESCRIP

Or, something of the like.

My questions are:
Is this list accurate for my vehicle, '03 S type R, regarding serpentine replacement?
How do I find the TSB related to this work, Belt Noise Service?
Does the blower belt need to be removed to accomplish this replacement?

Think that is all I have, thanks in advance.

I think it's a TSB whose details I've posted today JTB00045 v4

Also findable in the thread where tbird6 posted those parts I think.

Could be the right TSB, it is mentioned previously.

However, I cannot find the details posted anywhere....I run a search on "JTB00045", and get a couple of hits, just the mentions - no detail or content. If I do a "find in page" type search in the TSB area, I get no returns....perhaps I'm dense, if the content is on the forum somewhere, I would be pleased to read it and thank you kindly for leading this idiot horse to water.....

Strictly you have to pay for the TSB - your government arranged that, I think you'll find.

Jar, my 03 STR does the same. I cleaned and lubed the pulleys then popped on a new belt. Now she'll periodically squeel, but for a shorter period...I miss when she squeels...hee hee.

Re Norri: Thanks for the V.3, at least it gives me a list that jives well with what the dealer is telling me.

I need to pull paperwork on the car, PO had the supercharger replaced (bearing) prior to my ownership - wonder if some of those parts were addressed at that time.....leaving me just to the belts

Re Bfsgross: "popped on a new belt", just the serpentine, or the blower belt too?

At this point, I'm inclined to make the effort to discern which idler/pulleys I have, and go for a "clean and lube" to see where I land....

Looks like a fair bit of removing of hoses/resevoir to get best access, yes?

Also what did you use to lube the pulleys?

I posted the parts list when Jaguar did it under warranty on my 2005 STR. It's easy to tell if your car has been upgraded. The older setup used a belt ribbed on only one side. The updated version has rib's on both sides. That's why the idler pulley has to be changed because it was smooth and now needs to be grooved to match the belt change.

This is for the supercharger belt so yes it will need to come off. The regular serpentine belt and pulleys are not touched. The double ribbed belt is also harder to find outside of Jaguar. I like the Gatorback belts for the SC and I can only find them for the early single ribbed belt.

The squeak won't go away because it's belt slip due to inadequate friction grip by the single ribbed belt when cold. Again that's why they went to a double ribbed belt. Better power transfer without the noise. I guess the single rib setup was probably right at the limit and after the cars got into the field they started getting squeaks reported. To be fair it does not happen on every STR

This TSB includes two belts and two pulley, anyone know why or if you can just do one pulley and belt vs two and save some money?

Question Different parts ?

Is it true that out of the proposed parts

C2C37064 - PULLEY, IDLE
C2C37063 - BELT DRIVE
C2C37057 - SUPERCHARGER TENSIONER
C2C46862 - SUPERCHARGER PULLEY, IDLE (grooved)
C2C37056 - SUPERCHARGER BRACKET IDLER MT
C2C37055 - SUPERCHARGER BELT

only

C2C37057 - SUPERCHARGER TENSIONER
C2C37055 - SUPERCHARGER BELT

are different (ripped now, flat before) and should be changed ?

And the other parts are identical to the older versions ?

I.E. Old:
C2C11654 - Engine drive belt
C2S11662 - Tensioner

Thanks

No they are different part numbers so they are different parts. Just the SC belt had a big change that is easy to see.

But if your car has not been upgraded you can use the belts as listed for the 2003 STR.

You could do just the SC stuff as I don't know why Jaguar changed the regular belt since the noise was in the SC belt?

Cool Supercharger belt upgrade

Thanks, the Goodyear Gatorback is now available in the UK, so I will give it a try.
