What model/year JAGs save the most money at the pump? Are all the same... or are some better then others at saving you money?

In ALL my time the Jags I dont drive, as in they are in the storage facilty, save the most fuel. I know, I have had a nip of necta or 2, but V12 ownership does that.

The newer the car (brand matters not) the more fuel efficient they are, always been that way, always will be.

My V12's HE average 11.5L/100KM on interstate runs, and about 15+ in the burbs.

The old PreHE V12, I dont look, the fuel gauge moves quicker than the tacho.

The S Types 3ltr V6 average 7.6 on a run, and 10ish in the burbs.

The old XK 6 cylinder style engines of S1/2/3 etc vintage just loved fuel, but based on teh era they were designed and used, fair enough.

As for the X type, and the V8's, NO idea, but pretty good from what I hear in our group.

I have always adopted the attitude that fuel is fuel, and any engine requires its due amount to do what we want it to do, and in the BIG scheme of motoring is a very minimal $$ factor.

Worst of 9-10mpg , best 27 mpg
Averaging around 12-14....
I could drive my wife's Honda fit (Jazz) and halve that .. But I dont want to......compared to my STR , the Honda is half a car

Wow!!! If the price of fuel is a significant factor, the price of spare parts, specialist tools or dealer servicing is going to give you a coronary.

Possibly Ernest heard one of the old myths that surround these cars perpetuated by people that have never sat in one never mind owned one.

Prior to buying mine, there must have been a dozen people that told me 'they can do no better than 10 MPG'.
